❤️Memorial Day
A read-aloud is always my go to for more “difficult” topics for younger students. Here are my suggestions for both a fiction [Memorial Day] and non-fiction [Why do We Celebrate Memorial Day] option.

🤍Flag Day
Flag Day is great for teaching the history of our flag, how it has changed and the meaning of our current flag. I also love practicing and discussing the Pledge of Allegiance with this lesson! Here are my fiction [F is for Flag] and non-fiction [Flag Day] picks.

💙USA’s 250th Birthday
Teaching history to young students can often seem daunting BUT it is so, so important. This ABC option is a great place to start! For older primary students, this book teaches about important figures and events from the American Revolution.

Countdown to Summer
Amongst all of these fun celebrations, we also are all counting down the days until the end of the school year and SUMMER!
I love using this ice cream scoop countdown. Each day a new student takes another “scoop” off as we slowly get closer to summer!
PERFECT way to also lead up to an end of the year ice cream party or any other fun countdown!

Windsock Patriotic FREE Craft 🇺🇸
